But maybe someone thought "Living large update" would sell more copies of the game than "Things don't fall through the floor now update". The constant annoying clipping errors for one thing. I would much rather the devs fixed some of the existing problems instead of trying to add relatively useless new features. I just stack multipurpose rooms you get the same functionality with less footprint and more flexibility. I like to put as much as possible on foundation squares, and you can do that with general purpose rooms, but with a large room the room and the foundation merge together into a multi-legged monstrosity, ugly. The only thing I had left in it was a nuclear reactor, battery and power cell chargers, and some lockers with random junk. I tried the large room base, didn't like it, started a new "normal" base and was in the process of dismantling the large room base when I finished the game.

I disagree on the large base, but to each his own.
Subnautica multipurpose room should be base update#
The update is more important and enriches the game. Update 2.0 is a milestone and mods will adapt. Knife distance? Maybe when picking watermelon seedlings a little troublesome, but it doesn't matter. Unless someone is sitting in an escape pod for the entire game and storing materials in the Cyclops, but that's a bit wild and I don't think that's the point.
